The papers cover Slavin's work with SAB are fairly comprehensive. The Perkin-Elmer material is less so, but still contains interesting things. The binders of slide used by Slavin in AAS workshops and presentations have been separated from the paper archives and are now part of the Image Archives.

Walter Slavin was a significant figure in the development of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. He was instrumental in convincing Perkin-Elmer to enter a field in which they later built and sold over 50,000 instruments. Through his friendships with pioneers in the field like Sir Alan Walsh and Boris L'vov he was able to secure their know-how for Perkin-Elmer as consultants.
